An EA Governance process is required to identify, manage, audit and disseminate all the information related to the management and use of the Enterprise Architecture.
The governance process will ensure that all architecture principles, policies, decisions, recommendations, deliverables, contracts, agreements are used correctly at the appropriate time by the business area projects.
This is also the process by which the Architecture review Board makes decisions about the direction and content of the Enterprise Architecture.
Various requests are submitted to the Architecture Review Board:
- Recommendation Requests for consolidating existing products
- Innovation Request (when introducing new products).
- Requests for systems to deviate from the current Enterprise Architecture.
- Requests for exceptions and changes to the Enterprise Architecture
- New/Amended Principles, Policies, Standards, Approved COTS Applications, Reference Models.
- New/Amended Enterprise Architecture Framework structure
